As this is my first blog allow me to introduce myself. My name is Daniel and you will likely spot me working as an ambulance technician at events. My work doesn’t stop there though, I keep myself busy with our first aider initiative which I will talk about shortly.
This past week has been a particularly busy one for me, last weekend was great. Saturday we enjoyed great music whilst providing cover for access all Eirias in the lovely weather. A great family day out and a great event to cover.
The Sunday was a little more action packed as I found myself covering a triathlon in Chester in the morning. We were pleased to see a positive day without any injuries although the loose cattle made an interesting obstacle for even the swimmers
After completing our shift down in Chester it was up the A55 to attend the pit at Access all Eirias. The heat mixed with excitement meant a busy evening of care and preventative care for us, it was great to be in amongst such a great crowd.
The weekends events were only the tip of the iceberg however. I find great pleasure in helping our first aiders progress and success and so decided to work on a few more training modules for them in some great new skills as well as rehearsing ones already known. This time well spent was complimented by meeting up with another two recruits who have extensive backgrounds in search and rescue. I cant wait to see these guys out and about soon
