We are very pleased to announce that we have been successful in obtaining IHCD accreditation through Edexcel, one of the UK’s largest awarding bodies. The IHCD (Institute of Health Care Development) was derived from NHS Ambulance Service course schemes and is now part of Edexcel.
We are now able to deliver a range of First Person On Scene courses and are working with the IHCD with a view to offering more advanced clinical courses in the future.
Our courses are delivered at our Chester and Tarporley training centres on a scheduled basis, but we are also able to come to you.. anywhere in the UK.
The IHCD courses are ideal for security staff, police medics, close protection officers, airline staff and those requiring a high level of first aid training.
FPOS Courses are specifically designed for those involved in providing initial emergency care, such as Community Responders, Fire and Police Officers and security staff.
These qualifications are designed to provide learners with simple but effective skills and knowledge to enable them to provide immediate care in the first few minutes of an emergency.
Topics covered include:
- The pre-Hospital Environment (including minimising the risk of infection)
- Patient Assessment
- Respiration and Airway Management
- Basic Life Support and Automated External Defibrillation
- Circulation and Shock
- Trauma Related Emergencies
The First Person on Scene qualification is clinically endorsed by the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care (Edinburgh), the leading clinical body for pre-Hospital Care in the UK. The qualifications are valid for of 3 years and periodic re-training is suggested in order to keep skills up to date.
