Born Survivor Manchester
We are proud to announce Jigsaw is providing the medical cover for the military obstacle course race, Born Survivor Manchester this weekend. Set in the beautiful grounds of Capesthorne Hall it involves tough, extreme challenges based on the organisers personal military training experiences as an elite Royal Marine Commando. According to the website “Born Survivor’s not a race, it’s a hardcore test of character, teamwork and valour!”
This week see’s us getting to know the Official Rich McManus.
Self-described as a ‘character’, Richard trained as an Aircraft Firefighter and medic serving in various destinations all over the world. Through this he become interested in pre-hospital medicine and on leaving the Navy joined the Yorkshire Ambulance Service and then North West Ambulance Service to complete his training.
Richard worked very closely with Jigsaw Medical in 2014 as the primary link between the Tour de France and Jigsaw Medical teams and via this partnership a relationship developed which saw Richard initially join Jigsaw as Head of Events. Since joining #TeamJigsaw in 2015 Richard has now been appointed as Director of Clinical Services, where he oversees our Clinical Services Division and seamlessly links i the Recruitment Division.
Let’s see what he said when we asked him 2 random questions…
If you won the lottery what would be the first thing you buy?
I’d buy a holiday lodge in the Lake District to use at weekends. (Very nice!)
You’re stranded on a desert island, what book would you take?
Don Camsell – Blackwater: By Strength and By Guile. One of the best books I’ve ever read.
Today we took delivery of our brand new bespoke branded uniform trousers for all #TeamJigsaw. We’re biased but we think it looks rather smart. What do you think?
