Unfortunately, between 7-8am this morning, a Jigsaw Medical ambulance was involved in a road traffic collision with an HGV near Junction 11 on the M40.
The ambulance was returning to one of our bases in the Buckinghamshire area and was not conveying any patients at the time of the incident.
Both the ambulance driver and the passenger were treated at the scene and taken to hospital as a precaution; however, have since been released with no injuries. Additionally, the HGV driver suffered no injuries and no other vehicles were involved in the accident.
Jigsaw Medical CEO Chris Percival stated: “We can confirm that one of our ambulances was involved in a collision with an HGV on the M40 today shortly after 7 am.”
“The ambulance was not responding to an emergency call and did not have any patients in the vehicle, and we are pleased to say that the ambulance staff have been checked and discharged with no injuries.”
“Senior managers from Jigsaw Medical attended the scene immediately and liaised with other emergency services and our own ambulance crew. I can confirm that a full investigation will be carried out internally regarding the incident.”
“We’d also like to take this opportunity to thank the fantastic response of the emergency services to the collision.”
