  • This is for:

    Nominated personnel to become First Aiders in the Workplace to comply with the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 on first aid at work training.

  • Objectives:

    To enable students to get help & give safe, prompt & effective First Aid to a casualty in the workplace following an injury or illness using materials to hand and HSE approved first aid equipment.

  • Certification:

    A 3 year Certificate of Competence (Health & Safety Executive Approved) will be awarded on successful completion of the course and assessment as well as a regulated QCF certificate.

Course Summary

Our first aid at work training courses are in accordance with guidance provided by the Health & Safety executive (HSE) and are both fun and informative. All of our First Aid courses are QCF accredited and include dynamic and realistic casualty simulation which puts the candidates through their paces. We hold the First Aid at Work course every week at our Training Academy in Cheshire Oaks, these courses are held Monday - Wednesday. We are also able to teach this course 'in-house' at our clients preferred site.

  • Basic Life Support

  • Secondary Survey
  • Dealing with the unconscious person

Day 2

  • Recap on Day 1
  • Control of bleeding
  • Injuries to bones, muscles and joints
  • Burns & Scalds
  • Treatment of minor injuries
  • Treatment of shock

Day 3

  • Medical Conditions
  • Poisons gasses and fumes
  • Moving injured persons
  • Recognising illnesses
  • Record keeping
  • Personal hygiene/ Universal precautions

  • FINAL ASSESSMENT
